Songs featured in William Finn’s 2013 “Songs By Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyricists You Probably Don’t Know, But Should” Concert

Two of Danny’s songs have been chosen by William Finn for his annual “Songs By Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyricists You Probably Don’t Know, But Should” concert at Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, MA.

“Songs By… is hilarious, toe-tapping and informative. Hear great singers sing great songs. Listen to new collaborations and new additions to the great American songbook. Two-time Tony Award-winner William Finn not only chooses the songs but also discusses how writing lyrics is like making turducken and why some songs are great and some not-so-great.”

The concert will be held Aug 30-31, 2013 at 8pm at the BSC Mainstage. Performers in the concert include: Elizabeth Stanley (BSC’s On the Town; Broadway: Company, Cry-Baby); Alysha Umphress (BSC’s On the Town, Funked Up Fairy Tales/Carmel’s Candy Store; Broadway: American Idiot, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert). Tony Award-winning composer/lyricist William Finn (Falsettos, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) narrates this popular introduction to new voices in musical theatre. Direction is by Associate Producer Shakina Nayfack, music direction by Jeremy Robin Lyons, lighting design by Robert Brown, sound design by Kaitlyn Kelly. Lisa Klages is stage manager.
